Project Beta progress and testing
Work on game is going well, even though multiplayer involves a completely different way of thinking about game development, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now.
It’s a nice change from normal game development, an extra challenge, and I can actually see why people are drawn to it.
I’ve got quite a few systems implemented, and I’m slowly starting to add 3D models, ofcourse some of them are still placeholders, more and more sound effects are being added, though that isn’t a priority at the moment.
Testing
I desperately need to test it with other people, gather feedback on the gameplay and, if necessary, make changes, tweak things and polish it up. Whilst I reckon the game’s quite playable, I don’t know what people will say.
That’s why I’ve got round to setting up Steamworks. I’d heard before just how unnecessarily complicated it is, but it’s only now that I’ve experienced it. But okay, it’s good that it’s now, when there’s no pressure. I’ll set it up properly once and for all, set up the scripts for release, and test it dozens of times before launch.
Just a quick note, and then I’m back to tackling the issue of the download getting stuck in a loop.
